Great advice, often easier said than done! But like you said, no-one is born able to lift 200lbs! We all have to start somewhere and as someone who feels incredibly intimidated in my gym, I am speaking from experience. I’ve found that if I go early in the morning my gym is much quieter, it’s giving me the time and the opportunity to pick up the weights I CAN lift and work through my routine without feeling like I’m getting in the way. For me it’s about building my confidence first. There will come a time when I am the guy a newbie is looking at admiring my form or the amount of weight I can lift – I just hope that when that does happen, I will be able to remember how I first felt, and offer friendly advice and encouragement just like Marc, and Matt have done for me!
Thank you for sharing Adam, I am glad I can help in some way and that you realize the way you feel are, because that’s the most important thing. Being conscious of it so you can work on it.
Keep it up.
